Why Do This - Is It Important To God?
Every week, volunteers leave their families, drive to remote areas, and enter prisons to meet with men behind walls. Are they crazy—or just bored at home? No.
In the final chapters of each of the gospels Jesus’s final commands were to “go and make disciples” and to “feed My sheep.”
That is why volunteers do this every week—they go and teach God’s Ways and to feed His sheep—because it matters to God and it is what He wants us to do.
God Calls Believers To Love Through Actions
“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are suffering as if you yourselves were suffering.” — Hebrews 13:3
“I was in prison, and you visited Me.” — Matthew 25:36
Prisoners, often stigmatized and overlooked, are among the neighbors Jesus calls us to love.
Volunteering in Malachi Dads ministry is a tangible way to demonstrate God’s agape love and to remind those behind bars that their worth is not defined by their past mistakes, but by God’s grace.
Let Your Light Shine
Mark 4:21
Then Jesus asked them, “Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where its light will shine.”
Our presence, acts of compassion, and words of encouragement shine God’s light into the darkest corners behind prison walls—where it’s needed the most.
Scatter the Seeds — God Will Do the Rest
Mark 4:26–27
Jesus said, “The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he is asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens…”
Transformation is God’s work. Our responsibility is simply to take the first step and scatter the seeds then let God make them grow.
If there’s a desire stirring in your heart to share God’s love, don’t overthink it—just go. Scatter the seeds. God will do the rest.
Faith In Action
Your service today influences the next generation—both outside your home and within it.
Serving through an outreach ministry—like Malachi Dads—shapes not only the lives you touch but also your own family’s lives.
When your children and grandchildren see you serve, they learn what love in action truly looks like. Your example shows them the kind of father, grandfather, and follower of Christ that God calls us to be.

On The Row You Don't Grow
At some point God calls us to take a step beyond comfort. Sitting in a row on Sunday is good—but it is not where real growth happens.
Faith grows when we get up, step out, and serve others. As a Malachi Dads volunteer, you will grow in faith and in truths that can impact your own family as much as those you serve.
Not everyone can physically go into prisons, but everyone can pray, encourage, recruit, or give. The important thing is to get off the row—so you can grow.
