The History of
FAITH Prison Ministry
A ministry working together to reach and restore fathers in our local prisons.
How Malachi Dads Began
Origins
Malachi Dads began in 2004 at Angola Prison in Louisiana, founded by Awana.
As the program grew, it became part of Lifeline Global Ministries.
A Global Ministry Framework
Lifeline Global provides the ministry framework, vision, and consultation.
Local churches, nonprofits, and volunteers then lead and sustain the program in their communities — just as we do here in the Houston region.
Worldwide Reach
Malachi Dads is now being used in more than 200 prisons across 30 U.S. states and 9 countries.
Our Houston program is part of this growing movement — serving the men and families in our region.
How FAITH Prison Ministry Began
A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization
FAITH Prison Ministry (Family And Inmates Transformed by Him) was formed in early 2025 to coordinate and expand the Malachi Dads program in Houston-area prisons.
How it Began
Malachi Dads began in the Houston area in 2015 through a local church at Memorial Prison.
In 2022, leadership transitioned from a church-based model to a volunteer-led structure under Dave White and Pastor Tracy Baskin.
As God continued to open doors, FAITH Prison Ministry was established to better support volunteers, organize weekly small groups, and serve multiple units across the region.
Our Connection with Lifeline Global
We remain aligned with Lifeline Global and the Malachi Dads program.
Our ministry is locally funded and locally led.
We focus on faithfully serving our region—week after week, year after year.

Why a 501(c)(3)?
Being an independent nonprofit allows FAITH Prison Ministry to:
• Partner freely with local churches and volunteers
• Receive tax-deductible donations
• Expand outreach as God opens doors, while still honoring the foundation of Malachi Dads
Our Commitment
We believe transformed fathers lead to transformed families—and transformed families change communities.
