“I haven’t had pizza in seven years!”
One of the men in white in my small group said that to me.
Can you imagine? It’s one of those things we take for granted.
This happened in our amazing celebration on Tuesday night. After 19 weeks together, we completed The Resolution for Men study! We brought in Costco pizza, cookies, and Gatorade, which was a special treat for our men in white.
The evening started with prayer and worship music from CeCe Winans and For King & Country. We then presented Certificates of Completion for finishing the first half of the year.
After pizza, several of the men shared powerful testimonies.
They all showed great appreciation for the program and volunteers and expressed how the length of the program and the quality of the learning made a big impact on their lives.
They felt their eyes had really been opened for the first time to what God wants for us as men and how much better His way is than ours or the world’s.
They shared how their thought processes and reactions to others inside have changed. They talked about embracing humility instead of pride and wanting to shine the light of Jesus instead of inflaming the situation further.
They expressed an understanding of how much strength and courage it takes to live this way and that it is not possible without God. But all things are possible with Him!
Everyone is looking forward to starting our next study, Kingdom Man, very soon.
Please pray for these men, for the volunteers who faithfully serve them each week, and for the families who are waiting and praying for restoration.
