Below is a list of upcoming events

Date: May 14  (thur) through May 17 (noonish).

Event: Tour Angola State prison, attend their Malachi Dads graduation, and help with their Returning Hearts Celebration.

Signups:
1).On Feb 1 sign up for this event on Lifelineglobal.org. There is a fee for food, T-shirts, misc. The fee amount is unknown at this time. 
2). Also, if you plan to attend email volunteer@faithprisonministry.org with your name and cell# so we will know who will be attending.

Location: Angola State prison, 17544 Tunica Trace, Angola, La. It is about a 5 hour drive from Houston. 

Lodging: Best Western St. Francisville, LA. Mention that you are with Malachi Dads for the Returning Hearts Program to get a discount. We can eat at the restaurant across the street. If you know you will attend this event then go ahead and make your reservation.  

Background:
Angola Prison in Baton Rouge is the largest largest maximum security prison in USA. This is where Malachi Dads began in early 2000’s.

Agenda for May 14 – 17
Thursday: Travel and check into Best Western hotel. 
Friday morning: Attend new volunteer training to go inside Angola. Receive T-shirts.
Friday noonish: Tour inside Angola prison.
Friday afternoon: Attend Angola Malachi Dad graduation.
Friday evening: Return to hotel and eat offsite (at restaurant across street)’
Saturday: Help with Returning Hearts Celebration inside Angola. Informally meet with field ministers and inmates throughout the day.
Sunday morning: Optional: Attend a church service that an Angola Malachi Dads paroled inmate started in Baton Rouge.
Sunday noonish: Return home

Zoom Info: We will have a 30 minute zoom conference on this event around first week of March. More info coming.

Event: 2026 Program will begin. 

Location: Memorial, Stringfellow, Terrell, Ramsey, and Jester Trustee Camp.

NOTE: The Jester Unit start is delayed until April due to remodel work. Jester volunteers can attend other units in the interim or wait until April to begin.

Event: 2026 Training and Introduction 

Location: Houston First Baptist Church –  Sienna – at 4309 Sienna Pkwy in the Annex 400 Building. Entrance has a Taekwondo sign over it. 

Description:
Annual Training for Returning and New Volunteers. Folks interested or curious about the Malachi Dads program are invited.

Event: 2026 Program Workday to put together 400 folders for our 2026 program.

Location: Home of Dave White, 36 Rippling Creek Dr., Sugar Land

Description: Volunteers, spouses, children are all welcome to help. Will provide food.

Description:
Recognition for inmates who have been faithfully participating in the program weekly from February through November. Each graduate may invite two family members. Certificates will be awarded, food will be provided, and after the ceremony inmates will sit and share a meal with their loved ones.

Event: Malachi Dads Graduation – Terrell Unit

Description:
Recognition for inmates who have been faithfully participating in the program weekly from February through November. Certificates will be awarded, food will be provided. Next year we will have the graduation on a Saturday and graduates will then be allowed to invite two family guests.

Alert Update: No cancellation of Stringfellow Graduation during lockdown. 

Nov 18 (Tues): Although Stringfellow is still on lockdown the Warden approved our Graduation will still be held this Saturday and guests will be allowed to attend. Praise God.

Nov 17 (Mon): Stringfellow went on lockdown on Monday Nov 17. Per Chaplain Leith our planned graduation for this upcoming Saturday will be canceled. Next earliest date is Dec 13 (sat.) to reschedule. We will keep you informed.
